I have been a student of photography ever since I was young. My earliest memories involve my father's old Kodak film camera. He taught me the fundamentals of light and how to carefully compose a subject within the borders of the viewfinder. I cherished that camera and kept it with me until I was in the 10th grade, back in 2004.
My real introduction to the world of DSLRs happened in Kathmandu in 2007. My maternal uncle, Jyotendra Jyu Thakuri introduced me to his Nikon D5100. He spent a lot of time teaching me the ins and outs of using a DSLR, and he has been a profound inspiration to me ever since.
Over the years, I've come to realize that no one is truly "perfect" at photography; we are all perpetual learners. There are millions of ways to capture the exact same subject. Every photographer brings a unique perspective and tells a different story through their lens. I genuinely believe that anyone who claims to have completely mastered photography is either boasting or kidding themselves.
Today, my personal DSLR is a Canon EOS Kiss X5, but I am just as quick to use my smartphone to capture moments anywhere, anytime, and in any condition. To me, the type of camera you use doesn’t really matter. What truly makes an image beautiful and pleasing to the eye is the frame, the composition, the lighting, and the color balance. If you understand those core elements, you can take a fantastic photo with any device.
I will be the first to admit that I am not a perfect blogger, either! This is my very first post about my passion for photography, and I simply want to use this space to share a few of the pictures I have taken along the way.
